24 Season 1VariousIn HouseBeyond fucking awesome. This came out and I was COMPLETELY blown away. This show proved from day 1 it doesn't fuck around. Kim, during her first of many kidnappings is being pressured into making a phone call, she won't do it. So the crowbar wielding kidnapper takes her friends arm and puts it on the side of the van and says Make the phone call, Kim, stupidly says no. *WHACK* the kidnapper with no delay breaks her friend's arm right on camera. FUCKING AWESOME. Jack Bauer is my hero, talk about a guy who doesn't fuck around. He is a non-stop action torrent of a man. Just too awesome for words. I will continue blowing sunshine up his ass in subsequent season reviews.
24 Season 2VariousIn HouseI loved the first season, I was there every Tuesday night with bells on looking for my next fill of 24. I didn't think they would be able to match the calibur of the first season, but sure enough they did. Jack Bauer comes back and in the first 20mins being back in CTU he kills a suspect in custody and decapitates him. YA GOD DAMN RIGHT!!! And Kim gets kidnapped a bunch, it was what 24 should be. And Nina is the ultimate bitch. LOVE HER!
24 Season 3VariousIn house*Spoiler Alert*This season started off awesome, wanes a bit in the middle and then just heats up towards the end. The final like 10 hours or so are just crazy good. Jack goes ape shit, Chase needs to find something else to do on Sat nights, a hotel full of people get poisoned, Michelle gets kidnapped, Tony commits treason, Shelly finally dies, FUCKING AWESOME!!!!! It made up for the lull in Mexico.
3 NinjasJon Turteltaubin HouseA mix of home alone and every chuck norris movie ever made, yet some how this avoids being a steamy bowl of dog shit. This cost me less to buy than to rent, how can I say no?
A Bronx TaleRobert DeniroIn HouseGreat coming of age movie dealing with Mobsters, Violence and Racial Tensions. A MUST see. It was so weird to see Robert DeNiro play a regular guy and get harrased by the mob, you want his character from Godfather to come in from off screen and whack Sonny when he dares to punch Mr. DeNiro. Alas, that does not happen, I am patiently awaiting a director's cut with that in it.
A Bugs LifeJohn LasseterIn HouseAnother excellent Pixar Movie. Probably their worst movie, but that's like picking out the ugliest Victoria's Secret Angel all quality, but someone has got to be the worst.
Air Force OneWolfgang PetersenIn HouseJust a great great great great great great great x infinity action flick. Stellar performances by both Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman, as with most of my movies, if you have not seen this, go see it NOW!
American PiePaul WeitzIn HouseJust a great raunchy teen flick that involves masterbation with pastries.
American Pie 2James B. RogersIn HouseNot as good as the original, but still pretty hilarious. Somehow though, Shannon Elizabeth's accent got worse in this one. I Did not think that was possible.
American Pie: Beneath the CrustNoneIn HouseAn indepth making of that came with the 2nd DVD for free. I have yet to watch it. How much could I possibly care how they made the MILF Guy's pee look so real.
An Evening with Kevin SmithJ.M. KennyIn HouseThis is a DVD of a bunch of Q&A sessions Kevin Smith had at colleges. He answers all questions tossed at him truthfully, crudely and with a wonderful vocabulary. I actually saw him on this tour at UMASS Amherst. If you are fan of Kevin's movies and want to know more about what happened behind the scenes give this a viewing. You will not be disappointed.
Animal HouseJohn LandisInI got this as a Christmas gift from Sarah M. a couple of years ago. I can't believe I didn't see this flick till I was almost out of College. Even after 25 years it is still hilarious and every character will remind you of one of your friends, apparently drunken toga parties are timeless.
Any Given SundayOliver StoneIn houseThe first movie to clue us all in that Jamie Foxx was a valid actor. This is a no holds bar look at Professional Football and it was really interesting. If you are not a fan of football you might not like it, but for any fan of football it's a must see.
Austin Powers: GoldmemberJay RoachIn HouseThis is my favorite Austin Powers, I have seen it so many times and every time I watch it I find it even funnier.
Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged MeJay RoachIn HouseUntil Goldmember came out, this was my most quotable movie ever. Fat Bastard alone gave me material to make my father blush for years.
Back to the FutureRobert ZemeckisIn HouseIt's Back to the Future, what more do you need to know? It's a time travel movie, it's fucking awesome, and you should be watching it now.
Back to the Future IIIRobert ZemeckisIn houseI was throughly entertained while watching this movie, but it's kinda just 1 and 2 rehashed. Still a good time and a good way to spend a couple of hours.
Back to the Future Part IIRobert ZemeckisIn HousePart II wasn't as good as the first but it is still really good. The vision of the future was really funny and the alternate past/future/present(?) was creepy and well done. We have all wanted to see what Lea Thompson would look like with bigger boobs and by god we did! Awesome. But check it out, and to all my German friends out there, the hoverboards are NOT real, sorry to break it to you.
Bad BoysMichael BayIn HouseAwesome buddy action flick. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are both hilarious and the action is typical Michael Bay.
Batman Beyond: Return of the JokerCurt GedaIn HouseThis is actually a movie with the Batman Beyond concept, and it's pretty good. A bit too predictable, not on the quality of Mask of the Phantasam, but it was still very enjoyable.
Batman: Mask of the PhantasmEric RadomskiIn HouseI loved Batman:The Animated Series when it came out so I had high hopes for this movie when it came out, and it didn't let me down. I love when a show knows it has become a movie and it does not make itself an hour and half episode. This movie had killing and indepth romantic relationship and an awesome plot. If you are a fan of the series or of good movies, see this one.
Batman: Mystery of the BatwomanCurt GedaIn HouseJust another great animated Batman movie. Still didnt' reach the greatness of Mask of the Phantasam but it was still really interesting and well done. The first time in one of these animated movies I didn't guess the ending.
Batman: The Legend BeginsVariousIn HouseThis is the first volume of episodes from Batman: The Animated Series. Great show that started off awesomely for a kid's cartoon. It's one of those shows that both adults and kids can enjoy, but on different levels.
Beauty and The BeastGary TrousdaleIn HouseJust awesome. Belle is in the top 3 hottest Disney women. And don't get all weirded out that I have ranked the disney women in terms of hottness, if you are a guy you know you got them all lined up.
Beavis and Butthead Do AmericaMike JudgeIn HouseGreat movie, very funny. Kind of gets old towards the end though. Random story on this movie, I saw this with my brother and his friend James in the city. I was 14 and it was my first time really in the city at night and two men walked by us holding hands and I snickered a little and my brother told me not too laugh, it's not funny. So, I quickly matured and bit my tongue, and kept walking. Then we passed a man in white leopard print tights, with a pink feather scarf, and a leather cowboy hat. This was almost too much for my 14 year old will power however, I got into the theater and before letting loose a howl of laughter. Nothing against the man's life choices, but definitely some serious yuck's against his wardrobe.
Being John MalkovichSpike JonzeIn HouseI saw this movie in my Freshman year of college, and I had no idea what to expect but what I got was one of the most original, fucked up and entertaining movies I have ever seen. I HIGHLY recommend seeing this movie if you haven't already.
Big FishTim BurtonIn HouseSUCH AN EXCELLENT MOVIE!!! I wanted to see this after I saw a small blurb in EW that Tim Burton is making a movie with Ewan McGregor, and next to that blurb was a picture of Ewan washing a 500lb man in a giant pail with a scrub brush on a stick. From that alone I knew this was going to be something awesome, but I had no clue it would turn out to be one of my favorite movies. Go see this now, such real and believable characters in a world filled with tall tales.
Bill and Ted's Excellent AdventureStephen HerekIn HouseThe movie that made the insult Midevil Dickweed popular again, what more can you ask for? A movie where Keanu's acting abilities consisting of saying whoa actually fit the character. He makes a much better Californian idiot then a futuristic messiah.
Black Hawk DownRidley ScottIn HouseI read the book before seeing this movie and I was blown away by the book, but since it's a re-telling of almost text book formatting, I couldn't follow names and characters very well. The movie let me get a face for each name and what happened to these men, and as I read the book and watched the movie all I could think was how did this happen when I was 12 and I don't remember this catastrophe and showing of courage. This movie is excellent and I recommend everyone see it.
BladeStephen NorringtonIn HouseBlade's an awesome comic book movie. It has everything you want, great action, hot women, and corney dialouge.
Blade IIGuillermo del ToroIn HouseA rare sequal that was better then the original. It took the things that made the first one awesome; great action, hot women, and corney dialouge and they made the action better, had hotter women, and made the dialouge more corney. A must see for any comic book or action move fan.
Blazing SaddlesMel BrooksIn HouseCould be my favorite Mel Brooks movie. There are just so many quotes that just make me laugh hearing them. Too funny for words. Just go see it.
BraveheartMel GibsonIn HouseThis is it folks, this is the best movie ever created. I can't say anything more than that, if you have seen it you understand and if you haven't seen it you are missing out.
Bruce AlmightyTom ShadyacIn HouseA comedy that crossed the romance line without getting dull and boring. It is what you expect Jim Carey is funny, Jennifer Aniston is smoking, and the sky is blue.
Chappelle ShowVariousIn HouseHI-FUCKING-LARIOUS!! No other way to put it, this is sketch comedy at it's best. This is the best sketch comedy since Kids in the Hall.
ChicagoRob MarshallIn HouseI saw this in the theater and I was entertained the entire time, I remember whenever I thought, "Ok, I have had enough talking. Let's see some dancing and hear some music" and BAM there was another musical number. I also remember sleeping with one eye open that night with my girlfriend at the time seeing all that She-woman Man hating propoganda.
Clear and Present DangerPhillip NoyceIn HouseA really good Clancy movie. Great action and a great plot. My fave Harrison Ford Jack Ryan movie. Willem Dafoe playing a psycho ex-military guy, it's as if his character from Platoon lived and became this guy.
Clerks: The CartoonChris BaileyIn HouseSurprisngly not very good. Kevin Smith has openly said that he was forced to hold back and it shows. The show had some funny bits but overall It's pretty lame.
ClueJonathan LynnIn HouseI spent practically every Saturday as a child during the summer at Ma's (Grandmother on my Mother's Side) house. She had the biggest square pool and Me, My brother and sister and all my cousins used to play in the pool all day, and once we were sufficently waterlogged we would watch a movie. This was the great fall back movie. And watching it as an adult later, its even better. There are so many sexual innuendos that must have went so far above my head they went over my house, the only thing I knew (and still know) is that Yvettee's boobs are AWESOME. If you have not seen this comedy classic, do yourself a favor and buy it and watch it. You will thank me.
CongoFrank MarshallIn HouseThis movie started my addiction of reading books before seeing the movie. I enjoyed the book and I enjoy the movie. Both are very enjoyable. And I really do love Laura Linney.
Cool WorldRalph BakshiIn HouseRoger Rabbit for adults. Very funny, very dirty and Kim Basinger is veryhot.
DaredevilMark Steven JohnsonIn HouseThis could have been great, but from what I hear (I am tapped into the industry buzz), it got fucked in editing and by producers. Plots were half finished and just terrible continuity, but Jennifer Gardner was as cute as she was lethal. Damnit........Cold Shower time........I just need to keep this cold water running.
Days of ThunderTony ScottIn HouseTop Gun of Nascar. I shit you not, every plot point and character can be mapped to something in Top Gun. It's silly, but hell, it works. Nicole Kidman is gorgeous and the racing scenes are passable. I got this in a Trio pack with Top Gun and Mission Impossible, I wouldn't suggest buying it on it's own. It's just not that good.
Delta Force 2Aaron NorrisIn HouseChuck Norris movie in the 80's. That should tell u everything u should know, 1 man army who blows everyone up and then kicks the last bad guy and kills him. Done and Done.
Die Another DayLee TamahoriIn HouseThe best Pierce Brosnan Bond besides Goldeneye. The insane amount of puns get tiresome, but the smoking hot women(Rosamund Pike and Halle Berry), great action, awesome gadgets make it a good Bond movie.
Die HardJohn McTiernanIn HouseAllow me to be unoriginal for a moment and just say YIPPY-KAY-A MOTHER FUCKER to this movie. Classic 80's action flick. Just one of the best movies made and again, like Robin Hood Prince of Theives, Alan Rickman plays such a perfect villian. Get the collector's edition on DVD, it's great.
Die Hard 2Renny HarlinIn houseWhen I was a kid I remember not liking this movie very much, but when I got the set on DVD and watched it I realized it was actually a good action flick. It is no where near as good as the first one, but it's still a quality action flick.
Die Hard: With a VengeanceJohn McTiernanIn HouseI was surprised how good this movie was. Awesome action and a great plot with a neat little twist to tie it into the first one. Samuel L plays an angry black man.......color me surprised. But everything else is great. Go see it.
Donnie BrascoMike NewellIn HouseGood mafioso flick. Johnny Depp and Al Pacino are awesome in it, no surprises there. Watch it, you will be glad you did.
DragonflyTom Shadyac In HouseEntertaining movie but it needed to be edited a bit down. A few good scares but I felt it dragged at parts. I recommend renting this movie before buying.
DragonheartRob CohenIn HouseJust an all around enjoyable movie. The CG was out of the world for it's time, and it still holds up pretty well by today's standards.
Edward ScissorhandsTim BurtonIn HouseOh man do I love this movie. As a husky child I knew all too well the loneliness of being the outsider and having a crush on the hot girl to only see her go back to the asshole 'cool guy'. However Edward did me one better and stabbed that asshole in the stomach with a 2 foot blade. AWESOME!
Erin BrockovichSteven SoderberghIn HouseI got this movie for free from Columbia House by mistake. I was not and still am not a fan of this movie. The only thing that's not over-rated about this movie are Julia Roberts' boobies. They're real and they're spectacular.
EvolutionIvan ReitmanIn HouseI find this movie so god damn hilarious. Duchovny and Orlando Jones make a great comedy team. Seann William Scott played a great doofus after always being "the man" like Stifler. Very funny with such an oddball cast of characters. Just sit back and let the laughs come.
Face OffJohn WooIn HouseA typical John Woo movie lots of bullets, action, slo-motion and over acting. If you into that sorta thing (like me on a nice hung over Sunday) you should be entertained.
Fear and Loathing in Las VegasTerry GilliamIn HouseIf you haven't seen this flick, read the book first. While this is a great movie, I think the book was better and you will get more out of the movie if you have read the book first.
Fight ClubDavid FincherIn HouseI saw this in the theaters openning night and I was expecting a Rocky type of movie with underground boxing. Instead I got Fight Club, one of the best movies I have ever seen. This had great writing, acting, everything was awesome about this movie. I am sure you have seen it, so there is nothing left to say.
Final Fantasy: The Spirits WithinTwo Japanse GuysIn houseThis movie is not for everyone, but I thought it mixed Anime and American style very well. Unfortunatly it cost so much and did so poorly it bankrupted the studio and we will not see another movie by them. Despite being four years old, it still stands as the best looking CG movie to date.
Finding NemoAndrew StantonIn houseThis is just more proof that Pixar is the best movie team of the decade. Mine.....Mine.....Mine.........Mine.........Mine.......
FireFlyVariousIn HouseThe BEST Sci-Fi TV show since Babylon 5, and if it had time to mature I believe it would have surpassed Babylon 5. This show had everything, great characters, smart dialouge, awesome special effects, killer plot, just everything you could want in a Tv Show. Unfortunatly, the people at Fox are a bunch of Asshats and cancelled it. This set comes with 3 episodes never aired and they are all as amazing as the rest of the season. Make sure to see the movie Serenity when it comes out.
Freddy Vs. JasonRonny YuIn HouseI saw this movie with one of my then roomates Jurik and on the way to the theater I told him I just want three things from this movie; A gruesome kill, a funny kill, and to see an awesome pair of boobies. I got all three of these things in the first 15mins, so I belive this movie full delivered. If you are a fan of either of these series, I suggest you catch this fick.
Get ShortyBarry SonnenfeldIn HouseEnjoyable Flick, Awesome Cast.
GladiatorRidley ScottIn HouseJust a perfect movie that extended my hatred of Joaquin Phoenix. The fight scenes and dialouge were great and it gave birth to the term "Body Decapitation".
GodzillaRoland EmmerichIn HouseI don't think this is as terrible as everyone says. It was a decent action popcorn flick. I think it cost like $4 at Wal-mart.
GoldenEyeMartin CampbellIn HouseThe best bond from the Pierce Brosnan era. This was true bond with the hot women, great action sequences, good plot, and shaken martinis. I remember seeing this in the theaters and the first time Pierce says his name is "Bond, James Bond" the theater went nuts and appluaded for 5mins.
Groose Pointe BlankGeorge ArmitageIn HouseA good flick about a now assassin going home to face his H.S. reunion and the woman he stood up on Prom night to enlist in the army. Very funny and quick witted. Good for a date.
HamletFranco ZeffirelliIn HouseThis is my second favorite Shakespearean play (Othello being the first) and I think Mel Gibson did an excellent job of playing the near schizophrenic Hamlet. I was entertained from beginning to end. I have yet to see Kenneth Branagh's version, I heard he was great as Hamlet as well.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of SecretsChris ColumbusIn HouseJust as good as the first one and just as enjoyable. I feel the same way about this film as I did about the second book, very good and enjoyable but it's more or less the same thing as the first one.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of AzkabanAlfonso CuaronIn HouseI enjoyed this movie but I didn't love it like I did the first two films which is odd since this was a better book then the first two. I felt the director took too many liberties with plot and set design, and changed things for seemingly no good reason. Why does Dumbledore look like a dirty hippy now? I enjoyed the straight up Wizard costume from the first 2. And what I feel were important plot points like Who made the Mauraders Map and why is Sirius an Animagi, and why did Harry's spell take the form of a buck at the end were just left out. I look forward to the fourth as it was my favorite book, hopefully the new director will get this series back on track.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's StoneChris ColumbusIn HouseThe first Harry Potter movie and Chris Columbus captured the feel and look of the wizarding world perfectly. The kids they got for the main characters were spot on except for Daniel Radcliffe's inability to show he is feeling pain, if I was Chris Columbus I would have hooked up electrodes to Daniel's forhead and shock him, that will get him an academy award performance. Other than that, I loved this movie.
HeatMicheal MannIn HouseReally good crime caper movie. It clocks in at about 3hrs, but I find all three hours to be entertaining. Good acting by De Niro and some good over acting by Pacino.
Hot ShotsJim AbrahamsIn HouseAwesome spoof on Top Gun. If u like flicks like Airplane and Men in Tights you will dig this flick.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103060/Michael PressmanIn HouseThe sequal to the first, while this was good it was too kiddy for my mature 10year old self. A bunch of slack-jawed faggot parents complained the first was too violent, so they made Michaelangelo trade in his nunchucks for sausage links. But despite the pussifcation of the movie, it was still terribly entertaining......and no, Vanilla Ice was not in this movie.....that's just a rumour.........HEY WHAT"S THAT!!! :::foot steps running away, door slam, car start up, tires squealing:::::
Hudson HawkMichael LehmannIn HouseMost people I know hate this movie and I can not understand why. This is one of my favorite toss on to pass the time flicks.
I, RobotAlex ProyasIn HouseI never read the book so I can't tell you how it compares to the source material, but I can tell you it stands on it's own very well. I thought Will Smith was awesome in this and the action was very well done with mostly CG enemies. The plot was really deep for a supposed Hollywood Blockbuster. Bridget Moynahan is sooooooooooooooo hot. And Alan Tudyk does a great job voicing Sonny, you really do feel he is a fully developed character by the end of the movie. Go see it. Now.
Independence DayRoland EmmerichIn HouseThis movie is listend under the definition of Summer Block buster. It has a stolen plot (War of the Worlds), big name actors, big budget CGI and a bunch of American Propoganda. Oh yeah, it also made a fuck ton of money. I love this movie, and so should you. I still get goosebumps during Bill Pullman's speech.
Indiana Jones and the Last CrusadeSteven SpielbergIn HouseI still can't decide if I like this or temple of doom better. I think the pure nostalgia of two tips the scales in it's favor, but it is quite close. This was such a great movie, the humor, the action, everything was just perfect. Sean Connery as Indiana's father was too funny and Alison Doody (who was first choice to play Eowyn in LotR) was too hot as a German double agent. Go see it to see those Nazi fucks get another ass kicking ala Indiana.
Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost ArkSteven SpielbergIn HouseThis is my least favorite of the Indiana Jones series. I dunno, I find it kinda boring. There are some really good parts, but for the most part I felt it was lacking.
Indiana Jones and the Temple of DoomSteven SpielbergIn HouseI love this movie, this is one of my childhood favorite movies that stood the test of time. I don't need that wave of nostalgia to still enjoy it, it's just a great movie. Kate Capshaw's Willie character is still one of my biggest crushes, she was great in that. This movie grossed me out and scared the shit out of me and I love every minute of it.
Interview with the VampireNeil JordanIn HouseThis is one of the very few times I will recommend the movie over the book. This movie was great. Everyone was on their game and it began my on-going crush till this day of Kirsten Dunst. The book is absolute shit, Anne Rice should have her hands cut off to prevent her from writing another "novel" that talks about a man's hair for 5 pages.
ItTommy Lee WallaceIn HouseThe made for TV movie based on the Steven King novel of the same name, It was pretty good for what it was, but it really pales in comparison to the book. I recommend the book more then I recommend seeing this flick. While reading this book as a 12 year old, I saw Penny-Wise out the corner of my eye, and I quietly and calmly closed the book, got up without looking at the closet where I caught a glimpse of the evil clown and walked down stairs and watched TV with my brother and sister. As far as I know Penny-Wise is still lurking about the upstairs of my house, it's the real reason I left home at 17.
JawsSteven SpielbergIn HouseA classic that scared me when I was in the pool and there were too many floats in the pool and I couldn't see the bottom. While it will freak you out anytime you go into a body of water after you see it, you still must see it, it's a right of passage.
Jaws 2Jeannot SzwarcIn HouseCertainly not the most inventive title to grace a sequal, but it still held up as a good movie. Jaws 2 was not as good as the first, but still worth a watch however, DO NOT BY ANY MEANS EVER SEE 3 or 4. Absolute and total crap.
Jay and Silent Bob Strike BackKevin SmithIn HouseI love this movie. This was such a gift for all Kevin Smith fans. Half the jokes referenced his other movies and all the new jokes were too funny. After seeing Jason Mewes in interviews and behind the scenes I feel he deserves an academy award. He is so spaced out and permanently high, that the fact he can remember his lines long enough to say them makes me feel he has dedication to the art and craft of acting.
Jurassic ParkSteven SpielbergIn HouseYou know what this movie is, you know it's awesome. Go watch it again, it's been too long.
KingpinFarrelly BrothersIn HousePure and total raunch, but so friggin' funny. Bill Murray was so good in this. If you are looking for a pure fluff movie on a Sat. night where you won't learn anything or have to look for a deeper meaning, this is it.
L.A. ConfidentialCurtis HansonIn HouseThis movie was just too good. It ignited both Kevin Spacey's and Russell Crowe's careers and rightfully so. This is a murder mystery at it's best. Everyone in this movie played their character to perfection and I was fully engrossed for the full two hours.
LeonLuc BessonIn HouseSuch a great movie with an awesome cast. As always Gary Oldman makes for one hell of a bad guy. Easily Natalie Portman's best work to date, the chemistry between Mathilda and Leon is genuine and perfect despite them being seperated by 30 years in age.
Lethal WeaponRichard DonnerIn HouseI got all four Lethal Weapons from Colleen for Christmas, it was a more kingly gift then a shirt made of mythrill. This is hands down one of the best action series ever made. The first one is the best "mis-matched" buddy movie ever. Mel Gibson is awesome as a cop on the edge, the scene where he contemplates suicide gets me nervous everytime I watch it. The end fight between him and Mr. Joshuah is great!
Lethal Weapon 2Richard DonnerIn HouseThe first Lethal Weapon is one of the best action movies ever made and this beats it. This is just an excellent totally enjoyable movie. The action is intense, the boobies are beautiful and the tie-in to Mel Gibson's wife made his revenge sooooooooooooo sweet. There is nothing better then seeing a bunch of racist drug dealers get the shit shot out of them. There aren't enough thumbs up to do this movie justice. Go see it again.
Lethal Weapon 3Richard DonnerIn HouseNot as good as 2, however, I wasn't disappointed because I never thought they could top 2. The third still does a great job of being entertaining and keep the action hot. Rene Russo is a perfect compliment to Mel Gibson. Their scar comparing scene puts Jaws to shame. My big problem with this movie is the "main bad guy", he wasn't scary, he was an annoying weasel. He paled compared to Mr.Joshuah and then Arayan fuck head. Still a good movie go see it.
Lethal Weapon 4Richard DonnerIn HouseEnjoyable but I hated Chris Rock in this movie. His voice is annoying as hell, and he is way too over the top. But the action was good, and I think this was Jet Li's best work. I love how he sticks to mostly realistc martial arts, not the flying around bullshit that he does in most of his movies. Jet Li was a great bad guy, the plot was good, very enjoyable. Over all I think from best to worst this series goes from 2, 1, 3,4.
Liar LiarTom ShadyacIn HouseFunny Jim Carey flick, the board room scene is a non stop riot.
Little Shop of HorrorsFrank OzIn HouseA musical comedy about an alien plant that lives off of blood, I know, I know a dime a dozen but this one is done well. Great songs, awesome comedy, and Audrey's boobs make this a great flick.
Looney Tunes: Back in ActionJoe DanteIn HouseI thought this movie was under rated. I have always loved Daffy Duck more then Bugs Bunny (POMPOUS ASS!) and as this movie focuses more on Daffy, it was right up my alley. Surprisngly the worst and least funny character in the movie is played by Steve Martin. Steve Martin is usually fucking awesome, but he was annoying as hell and distracted from the rest of the movie.
Lost in SpaceStephen HopkinsIn HouseI liked this movie, from what I gather I am about the only person in the free world who did. I don't know, I found it to be an enjoyable popcorn flick. Give it a whirl.
Lost in TranslationSophia CoppolaOn my DVD player because Tony has yet to return it to it's proper place!I bought into the hype and bought this movie before I saw it and I don't regret it. I was totally entertained for two hours and got so involved in the two main characters. It reminded me of when I used to go away skiing in grade school and the cool kids would actually talk to me (not a common occurnce for the fattest kid in the class), and some friendships were forged that could never exist in any other place or time.
MallratsKevin SmithIn HousePure toilet humour and I love all 94 mins of it.
McLintockAndrew V. McLaglenIn HouseA comedy western starring John Wayne. What more could you want? This movie is still hilarious 40 years after it was made. The mudslide brawl is still one of my favorite fight scenes of all time. "Whooooooa Macklen, where's the whiskey?"
Michael CollinsNeil JordanIn HouseWhile my name, looks and drinking abilities show I am truly Irish, I know almost nothing of the struggle in Ireland. My knowledge of Ireland's history comes mostly from this movie and Clancy Brother's songs, so I don't know how accurate this portrayl is but it makes for one excellent movie. Liam Neeson is one of the best actors I have ever seen.
Mission ImpossibleBrian De PalmaIn HouseSuch an excellent movie. This was so heavily plotted that a lot of people hated it. I thought this was a great thriller with great action. This "slow" paced movie leaps and bounds better then the more action oriented sequal. Go watch it again if you hated it the first time, and let me help you out, when Tom meets with Jon Voight, he is saying one thing but thinking another. The images is what he is thinking, I know SO many people who just couldn't get that straight and were totally confused. Go watch it. Now.
Mission Impossible 2John WooIn HouseThe john woo bastardization of the mission impossible universe. It wasn't anywhere as good as the first one, but on it's own it's a good action flick with 30minutes of slo-motion.
Mortal KombatPaul W.S. AndersonIn HouseThis is my goto flick for when I need to pass an hour and a half painlessly. This movie does not let plot or good acting get in the way of really great fight sequences.
My Blue HeavenHerbert RossIn HouseOne of my favorite Steve Martin movies. Just a really enjoyable flick, go see it.
National Geographic: Beyond the Movie - The Lord of the RingsLisa KorsIn HouseGod damn that's a long title. But I have yet to watch this, it came free with the Fellowship Extended edition. I didn't think they could tell me much more about the movie then the 2 DVD's of Special Features.
Next FridaySteve CarrIn HouseHilarious movie, just go see it. It's a good time.
Old SchoolTodd PhillipsIn HouseI can't say enough good things about this movie. There are too many funny parts to mention, but some of the highlights are Frank the Tank, You my Boy Blue!, Elisha Cuthbert in panties and tank top, topless KY wrestling, nda 400lb black man falling 20 feet off a ledge with a cinder block attached firmly to his penis. This is obviously an artistic movie.
OscarJohn LandisIn HouseThis is another one of those movies that everyone hates and I can't figure out why. This movie is too funny, the dialouge is amazing. I thought Sly was great in this, and if you think otherwise, you are wrong. FINUCCIS SIT!!!
OthelloOliver ParkerIn HouseOthello is my favorite Shakespearean play. Iago is the most sinister villain I have ever read, just pure malicious malignancy (I used that phrase in a paper I wrote on this play in College and it got me an A.) and Kenneth Branagh portrayed it perfectly. This was a great adaptation with excellent visual references.
Patriot GamesPhillip NoyceIn HouseMore eventful and action packed then Hunt For Red October, but I don't like it quite as much. However, it's still an excellent film, Sean Bean plays a great Irish prick of a badguy hell bent on revenge.
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black PearlGore VerbinskiIn HouseWhen I first saw the trailer to this I thought it was going to be a crappy Disney fun for the family crap! I don't think I have ever been so pleasntly surprised. Johnny Depp stole the film, this is a must see for any action flick fan.
PlatoonOliver StoneIn HousePlatoon is my favorite Vietnam movie. I am not sure how realistic it is, some people i know in the armed forces says it is most likely very realistic, others say it's a bunch of shit. I dunno, I still think it's an entertaining flick.
PredatorJohn McTiernanIn HousePredator had foul language, gruesome violence and terrible Arnold acting. The only thing it was missing was a gratuitous titty shot to make it into the 80's hall of fame. My Pappy was letting me watch movies like Predator while other little kids were watching Willy Wonka and Wizard of Oz . Those movies turned them into a bunch of slack-jawed faggots while Predator made me into a god damned sexual Tyrannosaurus.
Proof of LifeTaylor HackfordIn HouseI think this movie got a bad rap because of Meg Ryan dumping Dennis Quaid for Russell Crowe, everyone was so sick of all the gossip and rumours no one wanted to see the movie that started it. I thought this was an enjoyable movie, albeit a little slow.
Resident EvilPaul W.S. AndersonIn HouseSurprisngly awesome. You don't have to be a fan of the video games to enjoy this flick, it's just a truly creepy zombie movie. If you are into that sorta flick give it a viewing.
Resident Evil: Apocalypse Alexander Witt In HouseDecent, but no where near as good as the first one. It was just very corney at times, while I felt the first one avoided that. The black actor who was rolling with Jill in the beginning couldn't STOP over acting and I couldn't wait for him to get shot and munched on. I felt a lot of the plot was forced and really didn't make sense. But if you ignore that, it's a good action movie with some decent sequences. Worth a rent, or if you are a big fan of the series, a buy on sale.
Riverdance: The ShowJohn McColganIn HouseThis is a really enjoyable show. This has a lot more then the stiff Irish Step dancing that is always shown, it has dancing from all over the world and is an enjoyable show. Amanda took me to see this as a surprise so I bought the DVD afterwards so we can watch it again without putting her in the poor house.
Robin HoodWolfgang ReithermanIn HouseThis was my favorite movie as a kid. Till this day I still know every word to the Ooodelally Song.
Robin Hood: Prince of TheivesKevin ReynoldsIn HouseMy brother Artie had an unnatural obsession with this movie and watched it everyday for over a month and since he was bigger then me and I did not have a TV in my room at that time, it meant I too watched it everyday for over a month. Despite being forced to watch it, I really enjoy this movie. Kevin Costner has one of the most interesting accents, if you want to call it that, but everyone else is perfect. Alan Rickman plays one of the best cinematic villians in this movie. Go see it if you haven't already seen it 100x like myself.
RockyJohn G. AvildsenIn HouseOne of the most motivating movies in history. A pure shlub given his chance and he takes it and goes toe to toe with the champ and survives. It's just one of the best movies ever put to film, if you haven't seen it you are foolish and you have brain damage that I can see. Go see it.
Rocky IISylvester StalloneIn HouseAn awesome follow-up. Rocky lost to Apollo in a descision, but made gobs of money doing so and he treats his wife and himself to RIDICULOUS gaudy shit and runs out of money like most people end up doing. So he ends up fighting Apollo again to support his family, and this time beats Apollo, by 1 Second. Ooooooooooooooooo, such a great fight. The two fights with Apollo are the best fights in the series.
Rocky IIISylvester StalloneIn HouseThis was my favorite Rocky as a kid, mainly because Hulk Hogan and Mr.T were in it. I have since grown to like I and II the best, but this is still a great flick. Micky dying still wrenches the stomach. The come back workout montage with Apollo is too awesome. Great movie.
Rocky IVSylvester StalloneIn HouseNow this is how you do a pure propoganda film *cough* Superman IV Sucked *cough*. I LOVE revenge movies and nothing better then going to the fucker who killed your best friend's home country and infront of his people and chop that son of a bitch down. The training montage in Russia is old school and hard core and as I lift in my room I toss that on and I try to keep up with Rocky. I am so close to being able to do the leg lifts from the shoulders..........HA!.
Rocky VJohn G. AvildsenIn HouseThere is no such thing as RockyV. I looked in the case for Rocky V and all I saw a steaming pile of dog shit and a fly snacking away informed me that the case was only created to complete the picture of Rocky when they are all stacked near eachother. I am not one to trust a fly, so I dug through the dog shit and I did find a disc. I wiped it off and put it in my DVD player, it started up and wouldn't ya know, it was a film clip of that fly telling me the same thing he told me before I fed him to my fish. Whoops!
Romeo + JulietBaz LuhrmannIn HouseI was so in love with Claire Danes when this came out, I think the fact that Leo got to be in this movie and I didn't started my pure white hot hatred for him. Despite the hatred for Leo, I loved this movie. Baz Luhrmann put such an interesting visual spin on this story it's for anyone not to like this movie.
RoninJohn FrankenheimerIn HouseGood action movie, awesome car chases. My favorite thing about this movie is that it takes place in France and they pass by several places I have been too or some how intereact with things that I did while in France, including they are a bunch of theives and some slimy fucking frog stole my luggage.
Saving Private RyanSteven SpielbergIn HouseThe first 20mins of this movie absolutely blew my mind. I had never seen such a graphic and intense look into war before. I knew I was in for something special, but I had no clue. When it ended and felt the eyes get a bit misty I knew I had just seen a great movie, but not until I walked out of the theater and I saw a couple of men who looked around the right age to have been in world war two openly crying and hugging eachother did I truly appreciate it.
Scary MovieKeenen Ivory WayansIn HouseA spoof on Scream and Scream rip off horror flicks. Very funny, the best one of the series.
Se7enDavid FincherIn HouseAWESOME FUCKING MOVIE I have a penchant for serial killer movies and books and this was right up my alley. I enjoyed every minute of this movie till I found out "what's in the fucking box", Brad Pitt's reaction to that moment was great and I totally agree with what he did. Personally I would have cut out the guy's heart with a spoon.
ShrekAndrew AdamsonIn houseJust a great animated flick. There are jokes in here for all ages making it a flick I look forward to watching it once I mature past the age of 14.
SignsM. Night ShyamalanIn HouseI found Signs very freaky and intense, but the real reason this movie is great is because of the characters. Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoneix (who I normally hate) played their parts perfectly and made it real easy to become apart of this midwestern family and feel fear for them as Aliens invade their home.
Sleeping BeautyClyde GeronimiIn houseStill one of my favorite Disney Movies, just a timless classic. Maleficent is still the best Disney Villian of all times, no one holds a candle to that mean Dragon morphing psychopath!
Sleepy HollowTim BurtonIn HouseJohnny Depp + Tim Burton + Christina Ricci in a Corset + Christopher Walken playined a damned soul = Fucking Awesome.
SnatchGuy RitchieIn HouseI enjoyed the hell out of this movie. Entertained from beginning to end, however, I hear that it is exactly like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and if you have seen one no need to see the other. Since this is the only one I have seen, I recommend u see this.
SpaceballsMel BrooksIn HouseSpaceballs the DVD is a perfect Star Wars spoof. I laugh just as much now as I did when I saw this at 6, well, probably more now as I actually get all the sexual innuendos and not just laugh when my older brothers laughed.
Spider-manSam RaimiIn HouseThis was one of those movies where I was entertained from beginning to end. I soaked up everything this movie had to offer. Kirsten Dunst has never looked so good, the closest is Bring it On.............time for a cold shower..........
Spider-Man 2Sam RaimiIn HouseFucking Awesome. The only thing I hated was how Kirsten Dunst looked, she was a ragamuffin 90%. Oh well, the rest of the movie kicked ass.
Star Wars: Attack of the ClonesGeorge Fucking LucasIn HouseAs I had a plan for the first prequel to make it a good movie, I have one for this. First, give Hayden Christensan a pair of balls, have Anakin and Padme fall in love on the go, not sitting by a fire, cut C3PO's puns in half, have Jango Fett's head fall out of the helmet when Bobba picks it up....that's called comedy relief. This was really close to being a good movie, but Georgey Ol' boy just missed.
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom MenaceGeorge Fucking LucasIn HouseThis could have been really good. Here is my plan to make this movie watchable: You find a little kid who's acting doesn't drive the need in me to cut off my own and possibly your cock, get rid of Jar-Jar, lessen up on the racial stereotypes, metachlorians............, extend the Pod race by 45mins, extend the Jedi duel by 45mins and cram the rest of the movie into the remainig half hour and you have an excellent movie.
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New HopeGeorge Fucking LucasIn HouseSuch a simple concept and movie that just comes out more like an epic then a cheesey sci-fi movie. This is one of the first movies I ever remember loving. I loved everything about this movie: the characters, the battles, plot, special effects, everything just added up to greatness. The new scenes don't irk me as bad as some pureists. I do wish I had the choice, but Greedo shooting first does not ruin my day.
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes BackIrvin KershnerIn HouseMy absolute favorite Star Wars out of the series. I thought the plot was great and the characters are at their deepest. Luke on the path to becoming a jedi, the training in Degobah is beyond entertaining. Han and Leia falling in love is so perfect in this movie because you don't notice it, it just happens, the more shit they go through together the more you can see their affection. No fire side chats were needed. Han is the absolute man in this movie, when he draws down on Darth Vader as soon as he sees him you can't help but yell HELL YEAH. Unfortunatly, Darth is the baddest mother fucker in the galaxy and a blaster is useless. The fight between him and Luke is so well done. And of course, the immortal scene of "No. I am your father." Answer Honestly, how many sticks or card board tubes have you wielded against a friend in a mock jedi battle that ended with one of you saying that line and the other screaming NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO as loud as they possibly can.
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the JediRichard MarquandIn HouseUntil I was mature enough to understand half the shit that was going on during Empire Strikes Back this was my favorite Star Wars. This is just an entertaining movie, it's so quick paced and action packed. Jedi NEVER lets up and brings an end to such a great trilogy. The battle at the death star going on while Han is trying to disable the shields as Luke is taking on Darth Vader, it's a wonderful symphony of action. I feel this movie was the worst off after the "re-do" by George Fucking Lucas, the musical number in Jabba's palace makes Baby Jesus Cry. But I will live, because I have a wonderful Fast Forward button on my DVD player.
StargateRoland EmmerichIn HouseA really good action-Sci-Fi Flick. This had a really good plot and awesome action. The special effects are still awesome. And for this action movie, don't check your brain at the door, you will need it. There are some good plot twists and a decent plot for a Ronald Emmerich Movie.
Street FighterSteven E. de SouzaIn HouseSuch a guilty pleasure of a flick. You need to dig video games and campy movies to enjoy this. One way or another everyone ends up in their video game costumes. Kylie Minouge is too hot.
Suicide KingsPeter O'FallonIn HouseA great thriller. Only Christopher Walken can pull off being creepy as hell while being duct taped to a chair with a finger missing and bleeding to death. I know a lot of people haven't seen this movie but I have yet to find someone who I made watch it not enjoy it.
Super Mario Bros.Annabel JankelIn HouseFUCK. YOU. I liked this movie. Keep your comments to yourself.
SupermanRichard DonnerIn HouseThe best rendition of Superman to date. Perfect re-telling of Superman with a 70's flair. My kind of flick.
Superman IIRichard LesterIn HouseOk, Ok, the first was awesome....let's make a sequal. It has it's moments, but somehow the special effects were worse in this one then they were in the 2nd. This did the Spiderman 2 plot 25 years before Spiderman 2. Superman:No More.
Superman IIIRichard LesterIn HouseIt has it's moments but, come on Richard Pryor in anything PG is a fucking waste. If that man is not saying TITTIES COCK SHIT MOTHER FUCKER, hes just not Richard Pryor. Decent, but meh, pales compared the first 2.
Superman IV: The Quest for PeaceSidney J. FurieIn HouseThis is one giant propoganda shit stain on film. I am all about protesting the arms race, but a nuclear blonde Superman that shuts down except in sunlight? WTF?
Swing KidsThomas CarterIn HouseAn interesting story of a close knit group of friends that are held together through swing music during the Nazi's occupation of Germany. This is a turly entertaining and powerful movie, the ending gives me goosebumps everytime I watch it even if I just catch the last 10mins on cable.
SwordfishDominic SenaIn HouseA good flick revolves around 30seconds of Halle's Boobies.
Teenage Mutant Ninja TurtlesSteve BarronIn HouseBest fucking movie ever to star 4 mutant Teenage ninja turtles. I remember my father taking me and my cousin to see this and like every 9 year old at that time, we emerged from the theater as round eyed ninjas. This dream quickly fleeted as we did our high kicks each weighing in at a metric ton and falling on our respective faces. It was at that point our brother's informed us that we belong on fat farms and kicked us while we were down.
Tenacious D: The Complete MasterworksSpike JonzeIn houseIt's the D's concert and their shows. Their concerts are funny to see these two middle aged over weight men rocking out and slaying dragons. Their music is funny and awesome. Their show is just completely fucked but hilarious.
Terminator 2: Judgment DayJames CameronIn HouseOne of the best action sci-fi movies ever. The action and plot were awesome, the special effects were second to none, and this made for one happy husky 10yr old escaping the heat in a nice air conditioned movie theater. I saw this a dozen or so times in the theaters, god bless the inept staff and ease of skipping.
Terminator 3: Rise of the MachinesJonathan MostowIn HouseWhile not as good as it's predecessors, I thought Terminator 3 was very entertaining with good action and a pretty interesting plot twist. Also while my crush on Claire Danes lied dormant for years after Romeo + Juliet, one shot of her doing that lip shake thing before she cries brought it crashing back. And she went a whole movie of being awesomely cute without shooting herself in the head or condeming herself to life in a Taiwan Prison. I was happy.
The AbyssJames CameronIn HouseInteresting movie, I highly recommend the extended edition. The E.E. adds on more to the ending that some might find drawn out as is, but I found it actually explained what the hell was going on. Also, the special features are great to see how much the actors hated making these movies. This is the 2nd movie where I have seen Ed Harris flip out and loose his cool as an actor, the other being The Rock.
The AnimatrixLotsIn HouseThe Animatrix is a collection of animated stories that deal with the Matrix universe. Some of them are excellent, such as the Flight of the Osiris and some are just decent. Over all though, it's an enjoyable collection of shorts, and if you are a fan of this series you must own it.
The Batman Beyond MovieCurt GedaIN HouseWhile they call this a movie it's really just the first 3 epsiodes from the show. It's a great start to an interesting concept. This is about Bruce Wayne just being too old to be Batman anymore and a kid takes over the burden. The animation is top notch, and the plots were all pretty good. It's a shame it got cancelled so quickly.
The Batman/Superman MovieStan BerkowitzIn HouseThis movie combined the Superman and Batman cartoons, and they did a great job of showing the differences between Superman and Batman. Superman is a goody-goody puss boy, while Batman is a balls to the wall Superhero.. Great tension between the two, with an AWESOME scene of them finding out eachother's secret identies. Eventually they team up and kick some bad guy ass.
The Bourne IdentityDoug LimanIn HouseI never read the books so I can't compare, but this flick was fucking awesome. Just pure action and a pretty good plot. Matt Damon just kicks so much ass in this. Don't bother getting the extended edition of the DVD, I dont' feel it added anything.
The Bourne SupremacyPaul GreengrassIn HouseA great follow up to Identity, this has great action and one of the best car chases I have seen. Again, Matt Damon kicks an obscene amount of ass, this time with vengenace as his motivator. And I don't know what it is but Joan Allen is old enough to be my mother, but she is still smoking hot.
The Fifth ElementLuc BessonIn HouseOne of the most entertaining movies I have ever seen. The action, dialouge and great direction by Luc Besson make for an extremely original and awesome movie. Highly recommend this to everyone.
The FugitiveAndrew DavisIn HouseA classic and rightfully so. Both Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones are at the top of their games. Great whodunnit with a deep plot and awesome action.
The GooniesRichard DonnerIn HouseOne of mine (and I am sure your's) favorite childhood movies. Sam Wise was so brave, even as a child.
The HulkAng LeeIn HouseOh man, what a shitty movie. My brother X-Q-Ses told me it was decent, that is the last time I listen to him. This movie was so boring and drawn out. I have wiped my ass and accidently got the toilet paper stuck in a movie projector and had a better movie come out. (One time I did that and the English Patient came out, Yes, my ass is an academy award winner).
The Hunt for Red OctoberJohn McTiernanIn HouseMy favorite of the Tom Clancy movies, not terribly fast paced but it's extremely interesting and the naval battles are awesome. Alec Baldwin also does one helluva impression of Sean Connery.
The IncrediblesBrad BirdIn HouseI got this as a gift from Kristine for helping her with her Think Tink! web site. This was such a great movie. Totally not what I expected, but I still loved every minute of it. This movie was much heavier then you would expect from Pixar but it worked so well. The animation and characters were top notch and the action was out of this world. I look forward to a sequal where we can see more of the other super heros, espically Samuel L's character. One of Pixar's best.
The Last of the MohicansMichael MannIn HouseGreat colonial epic movie. This is by no means a fairytale, this is a hard core revenge war movie. I love it. Madeleine Stowe was too cool for words in this movie.
The Last SamuraiEdward ZwickIn houseTom Cruise got screwed out of his oscar, he was awesome in this. This was a really good movie, I couldn't get behind the Samurais reasoning behind why they took a stand, it was quite foolish, but still a great flick. Ken Watanabe was great.
The Lion KingRoger AllersIn HouseHamlet done through the eyes of Disney and done extremely well. The last great Disney Cartoon in my opinion. I enjoyed Hercules and a couple other recent cartoons, but none have reached this calibur.
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the RingPeter JacksonIn HouseI heard these movies were coming out, and the previews looked amazing so I sat down for about two months before this movie was released and I read the books. I enjoyed the hell out of the books despite the pages and pages of poems and camping. I couldn't drag Amanda to see this so I saw it alone, like every other male in the first couple of weeks. I went into this movie a brand new LotR Fan Boy and I came out an absolute fanatic. This movie clarified so much that happened in the book and made me soooooo happy. The battles, the visuals, the acting, the plot EVERYTHING far passed my expectations. The Extended Edition on DVD just made it even better. I can sit through all 3 hours of this movie and be the picture of content. This is the first third of the best movie ever made.
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the KingPeter JacksonIn HouseThis was it, I was finally going to see the end of the trilogy that had all but consumed my life for two years. This movie was like a god damn roller coaster, there were times I felt myself holding my breathe I was so engrossed in this film. One of the high points of this movie for me was when Faramir was chargining into the winless battle and Pippin is singing the song for Denethor. As I was watching this and getting goosebumps in places I didn't know they could appear, I was like this is why Peter Jackson deserves the Best Director award. The EE edition added some awesome scenes, but some I just wasn't feeling. I still think the death of Saruman feels a bit.....forced. But then there were some scenes that were EXCELLENT, I am getting goosebumps now just thinking of when Eomer finds Eowyn and thinks she is dead and screams the most ungodly scream I have ever heard. Get them all, sit down, watch them back to back and enjoy the greatest movie ever put to film.
The Lord of the Rings: The Two TowersPeter JacksonIn HouseBy the time this movie came out I had the Fellowship of the Ring EE on DVD and watched it atleast 10 times. I was ready for this movie, atlesat I thought I was ready. This was a non-stop action packed great movie. I could not believe the battle for Helm's deep as I was watching it, my ocular cavities were starting to smoke from my eyes moving around the screen so much to try to absorb every excellent visual I could. I feel this movie was bettered the most with the Extended Edition, it added a lot of what I felt was missing. Eowyn and Eomer were fleshed out more, which I was looking forward to as they were some of my favorite characters in the books. Legalos' and Gimli's relationship was also expanded upon and everyone saw the friendship kindling that was missing for anyone who read the books.
The Lost BoysJoel SchumacherIn HouseSo my name is Chris, and I am watching my 6 year old brother Sean, what should we watch? Oh, how about the Lost Boys. He's old enough to see people getting their head's bit into, maggots being eaten, and vampires exploding into a geyser of blood in a bath full of garlic water. I still haven't fully recovered from that afternoon. But now I can appreciate this as the awesome movie it is. Apparently Joel Schumacher made good movies before fucking up the Batman series.
The MatrixThe Wachowski Bros.In HouseI was working about 90hrs/week on a Lobster dock when this movie came out and I somehow missed all the hype about The Matrix. The only thing I knew was the effect was also used in Gap commericals, but when I finally sat down to watch it I was blown away. It was so original, it was great, it was awesome.......it starred Keanu Reeves, WTF? But I love this movie and it's still one of my favorite action movies.
The Matrix ReloadedThe Wachowski Bros.In HouseWhen I saw this sequal the first time in the movies I was VENEMOUS afterwards. I felt this movie shat on everything the first one built up. After buying it the day it came out on DVD, because face it, I am a consumer whore, I liked it more and more with every viewing. I still don't like it anywhere near the first one, but atleast I don't spit venom into the eyes of anyone who mentions this movie.
The Matrix RevolutionsThe Wachowski Bros.In HouseI enjoyed this movie on an intense action level. I thought the fight between man and machine in Zion was well done and entertaining and the final fight between Neo and Agent Smith had some really great moments, however, I still don't feel I know the whole story and I still feel wanting. I found out sometime after seeing this movie the MMORPG game based on the Matrix is meant to continue the story. Fuck. That. I beta'd the game, it sucks. Go play WoW and read the forums to catch up on the plot.
The MummyStephen SommersIn HouseAn updated version of the campy B horror flicks from the B&W days. This is a great popcorn flick, check your intelligence at the door and sit back and enjoy the ride.
The OthersAlejandro AmenábarIn HouseDecent movie, I got it in a 2 for $20 pack with a movie I actually wanted. I didn't hate this movie, but there is nothing to bring me back and watch it again. If I wanted to see Nicole Kidman scared I will just look at the pics I have of her as she discovered me hiding in her bushes.
The PatriotRoland EmmerichIn HouseWhen I saw the trailer for The Patriot I said the same thing everyone else did, it's Braveheart during the American Revolution. I went without seeing this till a really cute girl told me I would like it and since I listen everything really cute girls say I bought it in a drunken state off of Amazon.com as I was wont to do in those times. I watched it and the cute girl did not let me down, it's an amazing story of revenge and patriotism. Jason Isaacs is quite possibly the scariest man on the planet.
The Princess BrideRob ReinerIn HouseOne of the best movies ever. If you have not seen this, then get off my webpage, you don't deserve to be here. SHOOOOO!!! Don't make me get my broom!
The Quiet ManJohn FordIn HouseI think this movie was too hyped up for me. All I heard was how great it was, it was a classic, it's awesome, it'll make your cock grow 10 inches, IT"S THE BEST!!! Personally I was kinda bored. Not the Duke's best.
The RundownPeter Berg In HouseA good buddy action flick. The Rock and Sean William Scott made a good team. Do not expect anything you haven't seen before, just leave your intelligence with the brain check girl and enjoy the movie.
The Shawshank RedemptionFrank DarabontIn HouseOne of the few times where the movie expands on the book. The book was really good, but the movie expanded characters, ideas and plots and made one of the best movies ever made. This was worthy of all the praise and Oscars it got.
The Simpsons, Season 1VariousIn HouseThe best show every to grace the TV.
The Simpsons, Season 2VariousIn HouseSeason Two.
The Simpsons, Season 3VariousIn HouseSeason 3
The Sixth SenseM. Night ShyamalanIn HouseI remember seeing this movie in the theater with my sister Colleen when it first came out and being scared shitless. And the surprise ending totally freaked me out and blew my mind for days. The best M. Night movie yet.
The Sum of All FearsPhil Alden RobinsonIn HouseNot a clue about this movie, I got this as part of a 4 pack of Jack Ryan movies and this was scratched to hell, so it's unplayable. One day i will netflix this and then burn it and put it in the case.
The TerminatorJames CameronIn HouseClassic Sci-Fi horror movie. A great action movie with a time travel twist.
There's Something About MaryFarrelly BrothersIn HouseThis movie still makes me laugh so much. Just pure comedic gold. Very interesting side story goes with this movie, and if I ever get around to writing up my trip to Cuernavaca, Mexico you will get to hear it.
Three KingsDavid O. RussellIn HouseI can not tell you how surprised how intelligent and excellent this movie was. I went in expecting a pure shoot-em up blow em-up movie and I got an intelligent, cinematically original, and truly unique movie. If you blew this off because Marky Mark and Ice Cube were in it, give it a chance you will change your mind.
To Kill a MockingbirdRobert MulliganIn HouseI remember when my sister was in early H.S. she had to read this book over the summer. It's around 200 pages, really small book and it took her the full 3 months. In that time everyone BUT Colleen read it, so I figured, what the hell, let me read it. I did and it was a fantastic book. So I bought the movie as well and it's an almost direct translation, very good movie. Go see it, it's a classic.
TombstoneGeorge P. CosmatosIn HouseMy favorite western. The gun fights, dialouge, and revenge were perfect, however, Val Kilmer stole the show as Doc Holiday. This portrayl of Doc Holiday is one of my favorite cinematic characters.
Top GunTony ScottIn houseJust a perfect 80's action flick. The action is great and the characters are immediatly likeable letting you become immersed in the movie really quickly. Show me any man that can watch Meg Ryan cry in that chair and not get goosebumps or even let slip a single tear and I will show you a man who's about to get kicked in the balls by your's truly!
Toy StoryJohn LasseterIn HouseOne of the best Disney Movies ever, Pixar is filled with geniuses.
Toy Story 2John LasseterIn HouseSo rare is it that a sequal is as good as, if not better then the original but Toy Story 2 pulls it off. Pixar = Geniuses.
Training DayAntoine FuquaIn HouseOh man does this movie make me feel uncomfortable. Ethan Hawke ends up in situations that created so much tension for the audience, I think everyone squirmed in their seat in perfect unison in the theater. It also could have been that there was a drunk black bum in their screaming at the audience that white people aren't allowed to see this movie. Either way, good movie.
TronSteven LisbergerIn HouseIt's fucking TRON!!! This movie makes my geek nipples hard....diamond cutters.
True RomanceTony ScottIn HouseRomance done Quentin Tarantino style. As with any film written by Quentin (we are on a first name basis) you can expect lots of action, awesome dialouge, and deep characters.
WarGamesJohn BadhamIn HouseOh man, it's too funny to watch this movie now. This was made when 8inch disks were still used and computer's had less memory then your digital watch, yet somehow anything was possible with the aid of these machines. Its so 80's it's great. Watch it for a goof.
We Were SoldiersRandall WallaceIn HouseAll Vietnam movies I have ever seen deal with the full blown war or the aftermath, this movie deals with the first battle. This is a Vietnam movie without seasoned veterans, drugs, rape, and all other atrocities that are associated with that war. The battle is intense and Mel Gibson does an excellent job as the leader of the U.S. forces. Very powerful movie, I know this movie fell under a lot of people's radar and that is something you should remedy.
Weird ScienceJohn HughesIn HouseThis is just a classic from my child-hood. I think me and my cousin Bryan wore out the film on the VHS watching this over and over. To this day, atleast once a year I act like Anythony Micheal Hall does when he is drunk telling people to Gimme the keys, I DRIVE or SHE KICKED ME IN THE NUTS!!! Too funny, John Huges' best, Breakfast Club BE DAMNED
What Dreams May ComeVincent WardIn HouseQuite possibly the saddest movie ever made. Do not expect to come out of this film a happy person, chances are you are going to come out a tear streaked mess. Deals with serious subjects and consequences, but very well done. In addition to being emotionally powerful it is visually stunning.
X-MenBryan SingerIn HouseI followed this movie through production like any internet enabled fan boy and I hated every moment of it. I hated the costumes, the fact they got an Oklahoma singer as Wolverine, and that Magneto was a feeble old man. Man was I proven wrong, yet again. Wolverine was kick ass, he told me where to shove the yellow spandex and magneto was ruthless and evil. Great movie.
X2Bryan SingerIn HouseThe sequal to X-men was sooooooooooooooooooooooo fucking good I wanted to have sex with the movie. I was smiling from beginning to end. Go see this now.
Young FrankensteinMel BrooksIn HouseThis is actually one of the first movies I ever remember seeing. I just remember laughing my ass off when Gene Wilder stabs himself and wanting to Roll Roll, Roll in the hay with Terri Garr. But any title with Mel Brooks in the director column, buy it now, it's going to be hilarious.

DVD Count: 208
